COALESCENCE I
“Before Coalescence comes disunity. With disunity comes loneliness, isolation, and hopelessness. How does one navigate a world that is decrepit and falling apart? These are sentiments that are expressed through a series of photographs. These photos capture the raw reaction after a collapse and how people come together as a solution. Disorganized chaos can evolve into a unified coalition. With Coalescence comes community and the birth of a collective identity. A stylistic language is born, which creates a uniform. Clothes are repurposed around the idea of rationing and new textile techniques are implemented for a new generation.
When people unite they can't be defeated.”

COALESCENCE II
Coalescence II further expands upon rationing and unity. The fabric screens and the gray hijab are both screenprinted an abstract jaguar print. Jaguars were seen as being that represented and united the earth, sky and the underworld.
Blue and pink heat transfer photos are edited by me to showcase unification through the human body.
